De l'art de la Mouche
Un jour d'hiver, lors d'une visite du musée Ludwig Forum d'Aix-la-Chapelle, je découvris une mouche
immobile posée à même la surface d'un tableau de Winfried Gaul. La mouche était
bel et bien réelle, la peinture également. L'insecte constitué d'un corps poilu
et d'un esprit, d'ailes et d'antennes, était figé sur Tag und Nacht (1966)...

The Art of Fly
On a winter’s day, during a visit of the Ludwig Forum Museum in Aachen, I saw a
fly standing motionless on the surface of a painting by Winfried Gaul. The fly
was as real as the painting. Made up of
a hairy body and a soul, wings and antennae, the insect had come to rest on Tag und Nacht (1966)...
